Over the past couple of years I’ve been steadily replacing many of my downlights at home with compact fluorescent globes, and I’m pretty happy. However I’ve now found a pretty good LED light I’m keen on, particularly as they don’t take time to warm up. It’s currently $59 – refer: http://www.todae.com.au/Products/downlightreplacements/6wstarluxleddownlight/ Todae says: “We rate the StarLux as our best LED downlight and it is one of our best selling products.” The 12 volt, 6w Starlux LED lamp replaces a halogen downlight at around 90% of the output of a 50 watt halogen. Although it works on my existing transformer, I’m going to invest in a new transformer to help lengthen the life of the LED. I’ve also installed covers in the roof to ensure insulation doesn’t get into the back of the lamp and causing a fire hazard. Let Ngaire know if you found this information useful! Ph 3375 7268. |
