Why get involved?
Getting involved in your local community is lots of fun and a great way to gather and share experience and knowledge about gardening and community development. As a group, we work together to provide a safe, welcoming place for people to grow produce and strengthen the spirit of Sustainable Jamboree.

How do I get started?
Everyone is welcome to become a member and participate in any of the activities available.  These can include gardening on plots, enjoying and maintaining communal areas, attending events and project participating in workshops.  Just come along to any of the events and have some fun!

Where can I get more information?

PAST EVENTS

Report on First Birthday celebration - 15 June 2008:
At our Sunday gathering on 15th June 2008, an attendance of over 30 people celebrated with a BBQ lunch our first 12 months operations at Rocks Community Farm.  For the record, the first on-site working bee was held on 3 June 2007, with 26 attendees. Achievements on that first day in 2007 included the setting out and mulching of the first 18 garden plots and access paths.

At our birthday celebration we were pleased to have Councillor Matthew Bourke, as well as his predecessor former councillor Felicity Farmer both attend this auspicious occasion.  Matthew and Felicity jointly participated in planting a commemorative bay tree in the western common area to mark this occasion.

Workshop - Basket Making - Sunday, 9 March, 9:00am to 12 noon
The method we’ll use is one derived from indigenous Australian practice. A variety of materials will be available for participants from which to select.
Cost: $2 to cover materials, with any excess funds to go to the garden kitty.
